HI everyone! I Would like to share something with you.
I came to Florida 2003, started working at Hawthrone Village, a great place with nice people. I was working as a cna/unit sect, medical records assistant. I had over 5 years at the Village and I thought I would be there forever.
You think it will never happen to you, but I was injured at home on July 11, 2008 with a broken collar bone and dislocated shoulder. I had to take a medical leave in order to have surgury on AUG 11, 2008. My collarbone had to have a plate put in. My medical leave ran out and I wasn't able to return to work in time.
When I was released to return on light duty that wasn't enough. Then 4 weeks later I was released to go back full duty, but my position was gone. Needless to say, I was heart broken. I loved my position, it was my life!
I found myself unemployed and upset, but ready to move on to a new position someplace. I just wasn't able to find a new place to call home and people that needed me. I thought maybe a new location would help. So I moved from Ocala to FT. Lauderdale Florida in hopes of finding more oportunities. I just don't understand why there seems to be no work available. Who is taking care of the people in need?
I am so ready to get back to caring for my patients again. I miss doing and caring for them. A fresh start with a new position, a new place to call home to do the work I have so much in my heart.....
There is an old saying. "you have to have a heart, your work is from your heart"
To do patient care work requires LOVING.. CARING.. UNDERSTANDING.. Everyone has their own special needs and they need to be cared for reguardless of their health issues..
Thanks for reading ! Debra
PS. If anyone needs a really good care giver, please let me know
